Livorno in Danza is part of a network of international events and competitions. Starting in 2024, OPTIMUM will be offered, an exclusive, invitation-only event reserved for the winners of the various competitions.
A showcase of authentic talent, with cash prizes and various opportunities. Special prizes, awarded at the discretion of each of the judges, include invitations to workshops (even with companies), seminars and professional courses. For teachers, invitations to support directors or choreographers during the work of the company, as teachers in seminars or workshops, as guests and to present their work on platforms dedicated to new emerging choreographers. The concept that gave life to OPTIMUM is an experiment that challenges the rules of normal competitions and that we will be delighted to experience with you.
In fact, on the exclusive stage of OPTIMUM, the best performers will perform, that is, only those who have already won an international competition and have therefore already received their prize and recognition for the goodness of their technique. OPTIMUM wants to break with conventions and reward more broadly art, understood as the ability to communicate emotions and transport the public into your world, rather than good technique, which you have already demonstrated that you possess. Dance is art and, when you go to a museum, you are free to go from Renaissance paintings to futuristic ones; when you read a book you go from a romantic one to a mysterious one; when you listen to music you go from blues to rock, and so on. OPTIMUM was born to reward the ability to act, express art, involve the public and transmit emotions, whatever the style being performed. In fact, it is purely a choreographic competition. The jury, made up of highly experienced directors and choreographers, will be able to evaluate your performances exclusively as a wonderful art form, in its complexity and fullness.

REGOLAMENTO
ART. 1 : DESCRIZIONE
The OPTIMUM choreographic competition is open to dancers of any nationality, who have been awarded in one of the affiliated competitions and who have obtained an invitation from the jury. The choreography presented must be the same as that which obtained the invitation. The organization reserves the right to make any changes to the program, for organizational needs, as well as modify the categories, for the sole purpose of maintaining a high spirit of comparison and competition. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in exclusion from the competition.
ART. 2 : SEZIONI E CATEGORIE
SEZIONI: solisti, 2-4 e gruppi

JUNIOR : born between 2012 and 2009
SENIOR: born in 2008 or before

SOLISTI: 2 minuti
2-4: 3 minuti
GRUPPI: 4 minuti
ART. 3 : PREMI
For each category, 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded.
Among the winners of each category, cash prizes will be awarded to the highest scores overall:
SOLOISTS: 1st €300, 2nd €200, 3rd €100
2-4 and GROUPS: 1st €500, 2nd €300, 3rd €200
Special prizes will be awarded at the sole discretion of the jury, including scholarships and invitations to academies and/or companies.
ART. 4 : ISCRIZIONE, TEMPI E QUOTE
The choreography and performers must be the same as those who received the invitation. The deadline for registrations is May 15, 2025, by sending a confirmation email to optimalcompetition@gmail.com, followed by instructions for paying the registration fee:

ART. 5 : MODALITÀ DI SVOLGIMENTO DEL CONCORSO
The competition will take place entirely in Livorno (Italy), on the evening of Saturday, July 5, 2025.
STAGE: All performances will be under fixed lighting. The Theatre has a 10 x 10 m stage with 2 wings per side.
REHEARSAL: There are no rehearsals, but once Check-in has been completed, during the breaks it will be possible to visit the stage and do collective space rehearsals.
CHECK-IN: Check-in times will be communicated by email. At Check-In, passes will be given to the group leaders, who must wear them for the entire duration of the event.
Each teacher must have a USB stick (no CDs or cell phones) with backup music (only MP3), to be used in case of emergency.
The use of sets, tools, objects or substances that could damage or make the stage slippery will not be permitted, under penalty of disqualification.
Unless otherwise indicated by the jury or the organization, applause is not permitted.
ART. 6 : GIURIA E CRITERI DI VALUTAZIONE
The technical jury will be made up of well-known international personalities, whose names will be made public as soon as the various agreements have been defined. The judgments of the technical jury determine the category rankings and are expressed in hundredths and counted exclusively on a mathematical basis. The awarding of prizes is reserved (except in cases of ex-aequo) to the 3 choreographies that, in each category, will obtain the highest scores. If deemed appropriate, the jury may not award some prizes.
ART. 7 : ACCESSO AI LOCALI DEL TEATRO E BIGLIETTERIA
Access to dressing rooms, stage and backstage will be allowed to dancers and the choreographer only, equipped with a pass. The public can attend by purchasing a ticket at the box office at a cost of €10, following the instructions that will be given by email.
ART. 8 : VIDEO-FOTORIPRESE
Video/photo recordings will not be permitted, entrusted exclusively to professional operators, who will take care of the sale and dissemination.
ART. 9 : CONCLUSIONI
The jury's votes are final. Participants must respect the rules and registration terms. Failure to respect the rules will result in exclusion from the competition
